Acceleration TIme
The time required for a DISK to reach to its normal rotating speed when it has been called into action. This particularly affects floppy disks since a hard disk is normally rotating for as long as a computer is swithced on, though small portable machines usually provide for a hard disk to be at rest when not in use.
