Amplitude
Amplitude
The size of a signal measured from the zero level to one peak. This can apply to an a electrical, acoustic or any other signal which is haped like a wave. The amplitude of a sound signal is a measure of the loudness of the sound usually measured in a unit called decibels. The amplitude of light is a measure of its brightness. Digital signals are of fixed amplitudes with a considerable margin nominally zero volts for binary 0 to +5 V for a binary one.
