VB.NET is built on the .NET framework created by [[www.microsoft.com | Microsoft]]. Its language structure is almost the same as VB6 with some changes.
Because it is built on the .NET framework, programs created with it now require that the user of the program has the framewok installed - much like the VB6 runtimes.
