Cold Boot
Cold Boot
The clearing of computer memory and the starting of the operating system. A cold start is usually performed when a microcomputer is first switched ON and ot must follow time to spin the Hard Drive up to operating speed before attempting to read program data. If due to a fault a cold start is performed during operation, all data and programs in the memory will be lost.
