CppBuilderMissingComponentPalette

(C++ Builder) When you have a missing Component Palette

Option #1

Uninstall C++ Builder, using the setup file in the CBUILDER6 directory, with the .MSI extension. This might work.

Option #2

  1. In the IDE, goto the Component menu.
  2. From there select Install Packages ...
  3. Click the Add ... button.
  4. A browse dialog will come up, filtering for .bpl files. Navigate to the CBuilder/Bin directory and select all of the .bpl files.
  5. The IDE will warn you that it cannot install some of these because they are not design time packages. That is fine, acknowledge and move on.
You should now have all of your Palette tabs back. But not all packages can be found. To fix this, go to Component | Install Packages, then paste in the 'Run-time packages' edit box:

vcl;rtl;dbrtl;adortl;vcldb;vclx;bdertl;vcldbx;ibxpress;dsnap;cds;bdecds;qrpt;teeui;teedb;tee;dss;teeqr;visualclx;visualdbclx;dsnapcrba;dsnapcon;bcbsmp;vclie;xmlrtl;inet;inetdbbde;inetdbxpress;inetdb;nmfast;webdsnap;bcbie;websnap;soaprtl;dclocx;dbexpress;dbxcds;indy;bcb2kaxserver;

Everything should be okay now.
