Digital to Analog Converter (DAC)

A DAC is a circuit whose main purpose is to convert a digital signal (a bit stream) into an analog signal. In telecommunications, it is usually coupled with an ADC, and it is used to reverse the effects of the ADC after a transmission over a noisy media.
