The Torque Game Engine

Popular game engine used in many arcade an adventure games. Supports In-Game editing - World editor, Terrain Editor, Mission Editor etc - scripting and C++ Engine coding.

ZFX Community Game Engine (Open Source)

This engine is an opensource project by Stefan Zerbst to illustrate how a Game engine works and whats needed to write your own. Has a great community and bug support system. This page is in German language.

The Quake Game Engine (idSoft)

Yes, this is the Game engine of the famous FPS game. idSoftware has released its game engine now as opensource project. There is also a .NET port of the engine to compile with C++ .NET.

Crystal Space 3D (Open Source)

Crystal Space is an open source, cross-platform engine
