HTMLSPEC-HR

HR

Usage

Used to specify a horizontal rule within a web document. Horizontal rules are commonly used to divide sections of a web document by placing a standard graphical link across the web page.

Attributes

align="left | center | right" (default = center)

Specifies the horizontal alignment of the horizontal rule.

width="#"

Specifies the width of the horizontal rule in pixels or percentage values relative to the current browser window. Default value is 100%.

size="#"

Specifies the thickness of the horizontal rule in pixels. Default value is 1.

noshade

Specifies that a solid color should be used instead of the standard rule style.

Code Tip

Although the <hr> element is extremely easy to divide sections of web content, a better idea would be to create a custom image to serve as the same purpose. The image could be tailored to fit the style of the web page and would definitely give the web page a more unique look.

Live Example
