Editing FAQs

When editing or creating a FAQ page, it is recommended that you keep a style that is consistent with the rest of the FAQ pages. The style that we have decided on is as follows:

Section header in bold
  • First Question
  • Second Question
Second Section
  • First Question in second section
  • and so on...
There are two ways to create links on this page:
  • Make each question a link to another page. You can take a look at the QBasic FAQ for another example.
  • Make each header a link to a page and each question a link+anchor to a specific spot on that page. The x86 Assembly FAQ is an example of this.talk:Link+anchor?
If you add a new section, please add it to the list at the top of this page and use proper URL anchors to link it.

If you need help with bold, lists, links or anchors, take a look at the rendering specifications. Also, a look at the naming conventions is recommended.

When you create the individual pages that the main FAQ page links to, please put a link on the page leading back to the main FAQ page. For example, a link should be on ASPFAQ_ErrorHandler that leads back to ASPFaq.
