What is an IC?

Integrated Circuit is the chip with a lot of digital and/or analog logic on it.

Who invented the IC?

There were actually two groups rushing to invent the IC. One at TI and one at Fairchild Semiconductor Corporation. Both applied for patents, TI on minaturized electronic circuits and Fairchild on silicon based integrated circuits. By cross licensing both patents these companies spurred growth in anew industry, semiconductors and ICs.
