IRDA
The Infrared Data Association, IrDA, defines specifications for infrared wireless communication.

IrDA USB devices are common.

The Linux-IrDA project is to make an implementation of the IrDA standards specifications for the Linux kernel.

Some devices, such as King Sun KS959 usb-irda-dongle do not have support in Linux yet.
