LAN
'''LAN'''

Short for '''L'''ocal '''A'''rea '''N'''etwork. A LAN is when one or more computers are connected together so that they can share information. There are two types of LANs: Rings and Stars. A ring is when a series of computers are connected together in a straightforward way; one computer is hooked to the next, and that is hooked to the next, and that is hooked to the next which is connected to the first. The computers would then be in a ring-like shape by wires if pulled far apart. A star LAN is when all computers in the LAN are connected to one central computer.
