(GPS) NMEA-0183 Reference Guide

When GPS devices first started arriving in the consumer and business markets, manufacturers used their own proprietary formats, such as Rockwell Zodiac, Garmin® binary, and more. The National Marine Electronics Association stepped in and introduced a standard for GPS data known as "NMEA-0183" which is now widely supported.
