Each and every thing around us is composed of atoms arranged in certain ways. Atoms put together form molecules, molecules form tissues and materials that make up us, the car you drive to work, your computer and everything else.
If we rearange atoms available in a pile of sand, we could make window glass, or computer chips. If we rearange atoms in some water, rock and air we could easily produce oranges, bananas or lettuce.
The technology that will be used to manipulate the world around us on an atomic level is called nanotechnology. This field is related to ?molecular robotics.
