SDRAM
What is SDRAM?
SDRAM or Synchronous DRAM stands for Synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memory. It has an asychronous inteface and thus reacts immediately to changes in signal to its pins. The clock is used to drive a finite state machine so that commands can be pipelined.

Pipelined means that commands sent to pins before previous commands have been fully process also get processed.
