SerialATA
What is a SerialATA?
Serial ATA(S-ATA) is a computer bus designed to transfer data from a hard disk to the computer. it evolved from the Advance Technology Attachment(or IDE). Serial ATA is hotswapable and somewhat faster than ATA.

The following image shows the difference between an ATA and serial ATA cable:

The blue cable is the ATA cable and the red one is the SerialATA cable. Conventional ATA is considered parallel ATA with 40 conductors.

Another advantage of Seria ATA is that cables can be significantly longer, greatly easing the process of building and maintaining computers, especially with a large number of drives.
