UDP
User Data Protocol (UDP) [/purple]

The internet protocol set also consists of a connectionless  ?transport protocol called the UDP. UDP provides a method for various applications to send raw IP datagrams and send them without a connection.

This is a minimal service over IP, adding only optional checksumming of data and multiplexing by port number. UDP is often used by applications that need multicast or broadcast delivery, services not offered by TCP.

Many client server applications that have only one request and one stimulus to that request use this protocol.
