What is VESA?
VESA stands for Video Electronics Standards Association and issues standards used in video bus architectures in computers.

The VESA specification is frequently used to define video cards compatible with the VESA SVGA standards (cards with VESA BIOS Extension - VBE).

Normally, the video cards have the VBE inside their chipset, but if the card is too old and doesn´t support VESA extensions, there are drivers that can emulate them.
