WebCamera

(Hardware) Web camera

Web cameras are often connected to computer using USB.

V4L (Video for Linux) drivers transfer moving picture from web cameras to computer.

Some cameras can store still pictures. They can be copied to computer via USB using gphoto.

MR97310 or MR97310A chip is used in digital cameras by Aiptek (Pencam VGA +), Mars, Emprex, Vivitar (Vivicam 55) ... as an USB interface chip.

Currently (1/2006) there is not a v4l driver for MR97310.

The sourceforge project http://mr97310.sourceforge.net/ aims to create one.

In codepedia mr97310 page is a wiki for this project.
