Wireless Networks
Wireless Networks
A wireless network as the name suggests does not employ any cable or wiring for transmission of data. In most cases, it relies on the earth's atmosphere to act as the transmission medium However, a wireless network is not completely free if wiring and consists of wireless components communicating with a network that uses cables in a mixed component network. Wireless media is gaining importance as it is especialy useful in connecting networks where cnnecting network components using cables might not be feasible.
Wireless networks can be classified into four types, based on the transmission techniques they employ
WPAN
LAN
Extended LAN
Mobile Computing
