X11
What is X11?
X11 is the current X Windows system server and the actual terminals are known as X+something, such as XFree86, on many Unix implementations including Linux, Solaris, BSD, and MacOSX. Work on this X Windows system sever began when Orest Zborowski began porting X Windows to GNU/Linux in 1992.

Its networked windowing system and thus you can log into a server or computer using a Xterminal client.
