What is a file?
In the loosest terms, a file is usually an organization of bytes on a disk. It can be a document, a folder or a program.
On some systems, ?processes can be accessed like files so you can see what is happening in the system. In many, certain pieces of hardware can be accessed like files; this typically includes printers, modems, the screen and others.
