matrix

Matrix

A mathematical matrix is a (two dimensional) table of rectangular shape that contains numbers, or to be precise, elements of a certain algebraic structure. This structure should have defined rules for addition and multiplication.

We use matrices to store information that is dependant on two parameters. For instance, we often use matrices to store linear transformations and systems of linear equations.
