Memory is where programs and data reside. Memory is rarely used for mass storage, as magnetical/optical disks are most often cheaper.

There are two main types of memory:

• Random Access Memory (RAM)
• Read Only Memory (ROM)

Memory can 'leak', which is called a memory leak.
